The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana who
double as the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic council (GPCC)
has fired response to critics against the building of the National Cathedral referring
to them as Sanballat and Tobiah.
Sanballat and Tobiah were enemies of the Jews who made
several attempts to stop Nehemiah from rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in the
Old Testament.
President Nana Addo on 6th March 2017 cut sod for the
construction of a National Cathedral of interdenominational worship in Accra,
which is meant to be a gesture of thanksgiving to the Almighty God for the
blessings he has showered and continues to shower on the nation.
The construction of the 5000-seater National Cathedral has
caused public outcry among judges in the country following the renewed backlash
from some members of the public over the relevance of the project and the
inconvenience its construction.
Briefing delegates on the establishment of the national
Cathedral at the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council 2018 conference on
Wednesday, Rev. Manso lauded the government for the location of the Cathedral
saying that it’s the best place to set-up the 5000-seater building.
“..almost all the judges whose bungalows have been affected
by the construction has been moved to a better and more secured place which is
safer than their old bungalows built in the 90’s” he stated.
“.. some few people in the country are throwing dust into
our eyes to destroy the establishment of the Cathedral, not the 70 percent of
Christians in the country are against the construction but some people are
making it look bad” Rev. Frimpong stressed.
He observed that the location of cathedral will never be
changed “...For it’s the Sanballat and the Tobiah’s who wants to thwart the
building of the National Cathedral”.
He further stated that the passion of the President and zeal
of the trustees to build the National Cathedral will not be compromised.
“…with passion of the president and the zeal of the
trustees, the National cathedral will be a reality. We are not changing the
venue; God deserves the best of the parcel of the land Ghana” Rev. Frimpong
Manso fired.
