The Director General of Communications and Public Affairs,
ACP David Eklu has commended Ghana journalist Association (GJA) and National
Media Commission (NMC) under the auspices of UNESCO for hosting the world press
freedom day in Ghana.
“On behalf of the Ghana police Service and my own self as
the Director General of Communications and Public Affairs, I congratulate the
GJA and NMC under the auspices of UNESCO for bringing this important occasion
to us in Ghana” Mr. lauded.
Speaking at the symposium which was organized by GJA as a
starter program to kick off the commemoration of the 25th world
press freedom day at the Accra International Press Center on Thursday, ACP
David Eklu noted that the Ghana Police Service has included in its activities to organize
a special program for police officers and journalist on media relations to
enlighten them on some of the principles and operational procedures.
ACP Eklu urged all journalist and police officers to come
together to revive and sustain the relation between journalist and the police
service.
“ it is going to be difficult but there is always a way out,
and the way out is that let all come together and identify gaps between the
police and journalist so that we can have that relation between police and
journalist that have been there always, renewed, revived and sustained” ACP
Eklu pleaded.
